Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing are the skills needed to learn a language. These skills are sometimes grouped into two main categories. Firstly, receptive skills which include listening and reading. As we listen and read, we build up our knowledge from others. Secondly, speaking and writing are known as productive skills. When we speak or write, we share with others the information and knowledge we have. As a matter of fact, a person will not be able to give if he has nothing. It seems to me that receptive skills come first and then followed by productive ones. This does not mean that we learn each skill seperately. For this reason, we can say they are integrated. A student has to improve these skills by practice as much as they can. Having been said, practice makes perfect. Practice and patience are recommended in order to master these inegrated skills.
